The company is pleased to announce publication of our first research article in Diabetic Foot and Ankle.  This paper was derived from a larger report pending  publication in the Journal of the American Podiatric Medical Association.

In brief, the current article demonstrated a relative sparing of sensation over the 5th toe compared to the great toe in diabetics with neuropathy. This finding raises concerns about the longstanding reliance on nerve conduction velocity (NCV) testing of the sural nerve. In the past, these NCVs have been touted as the “Gold Standard” for diagnosing neuropathy caused by a variety of conditions including diabetes. Interestingly, several independantly published, neurophysiological studies appear to support our findings.
